Nakhon Si Thammarat

Nakhon Si Thammarat, the second largest city of the greatest history and background above any other town in the region due to its status as a first grade city controlling various subjected cities and towns, a place that houses Lord Buddha’s relics which is the most important statutory place of the south, being the center of Buddhism during Sivichaya period, is located some 861 kms. by railroad and 780 kms. by highway from Bangkok. It occupies an area of 9,942.5 square kilometers having high plateau with mountains and jungles in the west then sloping down towards the east and becoming basin along the coastline of the Gulf of Thailand. It borders Surat Thani to the north; Trang, Phattalung and Songkhla to the south; the Gulf of Thailand to the east; and Krabi to the west.

Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan is located on Ratchadamnoen Road in Tambon Nai Muang. This is one of the most important historical sites in southern Thailand. The pagoda, 55.78 meters high, has a distinctive Sri Lankan style. The top is entirely covered by pure gold. Inside the temple are many buildings of importance, especially the royal building which has beautiful architecture from the Ayutthaya period and the Sam Chom building where the Buddha image attired in royal wardrobe Phra Si Thamma Sokarat is housed. There are also the Phra Maha Phinetkrom (the equestrian image) building, the Thap Kaset building, while the Khian and Pho Lanka buildings are used to display artifacts donated to the temple by Buddhists. Krung Ching waterfall is a beautiful and important waterfall of Khao Luang National Park. Located in Tambon Krung Ching, the waterfall derived its name from Ton Ching which is a kind of palm prevalent in the area. The waterfall has many levels and the most breathtaking level is Nan Fon Saen Ha where water drops off a sheer cliff 100 meters high, splashing down creating a mist covering the area like rain unlike other falls. This waterfall level is depicted on the back of Thailand’s 1,000 baht currency note. The waterfall is under the responsibility of the Khao Luang National Park Protection Unit. The waterfall can be reached by a road 3.8 kilometers long to Nan Fon Saen Ha. The area has a training center, accommodation and a campground.

Krabi i

Krabi is a southern province on Thailand's Andaman seaboard with perhaps the country's oldest history of continued settlement. After dating stone tools, ancient coloured pictures, beads, pottery and skeletal remains found in the province's many cliffs and caves, it is thought that Krabi has been home to homo sapiens since the period 25,000 - 35,000 B.C. In recorded times it was called the 'Ban Thai Samor', and was one of twelve towns that used, before people were widely literate, the monkey for their standard. At that time, c. 1200 A.D., Krabi was tributary to the Kingdom of Ligor, a city on the Kra Peninsula's east coast better known today as Nakhon Si Thammarat.

Mu Ko Phi Phi An archipelago of six islands consists of Ko Phi Phi Don and Ko Phi Phi Le as the major islands. The superb scenery of the islands includes high hills with jutting clifts surrounded by marvelous beaches and emerald sea, hiding underneath a bank of coral reefs and colorful marine life. Chumphon province

  Chumphon province is located in the most upper part of the Southern region. Following the Highway No.4, it is approximately 463 kilometers from Bangkok or about 476 kilometers by railroad. The total area of chumphon is about 6,009 aquare kilometers,the fourth largest province of the South.
    The province is divided into 8 Districts, 70 Tambons, and 655 villages. Considering the administrative area, there are 2 municipal areas 12 Sanitary areas and 66 Sub-district Administration Organization The boundary to the north is Prachuap Khiri Khan, to the south is Surat Thani. The Gulf of Thailand situa tes on the east, while the west are the Union of Myanmar and Ranong. The shape of the province is long and narrow, the west consisted of mountains which are also the natural international boundary. The plain area which is suitable for farming is in the central part. The east of Chumphon consist of 222 kilometers long coastal with beaches. Raining season in Chumphon is relatively long, last from May to November. The temperature is not too high in summer and not too low in winter as well. 

Thung Wua Laen Beach This beach is in village No.8, Sa Phlee Subdistrict far away 18 kms. from Pa Thiew District by asphalt road and 16 kms. from city center. The name of this beach comes from a legend about a magic wild bull who, after being subdued by the hunters, came back to live while being skinned and run away into the forest. So, the hunters named this beach "Thung Wua Laen" meaning "Running Bull field."

Sai Ree Beach This beach is about 20 kilometers away from Muang Chumphon Municipality a long highway no. 4119 and 4099. It's large beach with front sea restaurants. Around the corner, there is the Monument of admiral Phra Boromawongthir Khromluang Chumphon Khet Udomsak who found the Royal Thai Navy. This is a scared place of the people in Chumphon and nearby province.

Hat Sai Ri
This scenic and popular beach is about 20 kilometres from Chumphon by highways no.4119 and 4098. There are bus services from town to the beach. It is a large and curved beach and is favorite among the Chumphon people for their relaxation. There are some accommodations and restaurants available along the beach.

Ko Thalu
Being a small limestone island with two big caves, around the island, there are viewing points for corals and sea flowers.
